Derek Rasmussen
With over 30 years of experience across diverse areas of the powder metallurgy industry, from operations to technical sales and applications, our founder, Derek Rasmussen, brings in-depth knowledge and experience directly to you. Mr. Rasmussen’s expertise lies in powder metallurgy processes used to fabricate metal components from metal powders. Formally educated in powder metallurgy, he started his career as a hands-on technologist (press and sinter tool design, process engineering).
His expertise cuts across the competing technologies of Press and Sinter (PM), Metal Injection Molding (MIM), Spark Plasma Sintering (SPS) and Magnets. He is familiar with the material options and strengths, weaknesses of each process; Evaluating components for “best fit” in three areas 1. Price 2. Design for Manufacture (DFM) and 3. Material.
